Experimenting with Photoshop

So I finally got my hands on a copy of Photoshop CS2 (at no cost to me, but still obtained LEGALLY). So I started tinkering around with everything and figured this stuff out all on my own :) hope Y'all like it.

Forward Step in Photography

I have finally taken that small, but important step in capturing not only places, but people as well. I try to take places where i'd normally like to take pictures of scenery, and then put people in front of these breath-taking views, to aesthetically enhance the overall effect of the pictures. Here are a few of the ones I have collected so far. And along with that, I'd like to thank The Monk Family, along with Shanon, Tori, Brooke, Kaydee, Mercedez, and Ruth for letting me practice my love and passion of photography on their wonderful faces.

Date to Zion

It was the night before the Hadie Sawkins dance, and our group still had not decided on what to do for our day date.  The weather was wet, and unappealing to be out in.  As I was concurrently texting Cody, Joe, and Luke to try and decide what to do, we decided to go on a hike in Zion National Park.  In the desperation of the moment, I passed the thought over in my head, but Cody and Joe pointed out that if it was raining, all we would need were umbrellas, and they also reminded me of how pretty Zion is when its raining.  The main reason is the waterfalls. We spent the duration of our hike follow a trail of water up the slick-rock, finally getting to a wonderful little waterfall, were we decided to take some creative pictures with our dates.  I had my prized new camera with me, and I offered to snap away, granted someone would hold an umbrella over my camera so it would not get wet.  The results of this event have made me quite happy.  For some reason, I just thoroughly enjoy this picture of Bradley and Kayli as they were walking to the waterfall.  I hope you enjoy.

Photography?
I like photography. I especially like how you can take hundreds of pictures and then you only have one that really turns out the way you like it.  Which is weird for me, because I'm a very impatient being..... when my camera is not in my hand. Photographs are the best way for me to try and express something through visuals.   They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I say that a picture is worth as many words as someone is willing to say, which could be 10, 100, or even 435,239. Ultimately, I want to my pictures to all be worth 1 word: Wow.  I know I'm no where close, but I strive for the best, and hope I can eventually come close to just that.
